Is reddit the answer to connecting tennis players to each other? ... NO

Yesterday I spent 30 minutes helping to connect someone visiting Atlanta (from Sweden) with a friend who plays there at a similar level.

The ask came from a random 10s reddit thread.

I used linkedin to make the connection between the two players.

Took me 30 minutes of my busy day.

It's 2025 and we still don't have a great way to connect one player to another. This is a huge failure at the highest levels. Where is the kayak database of searchable players? Where is the wikipedia of players?

At the top of this failure are the various tennis 'federations' that have done nothing to build these needed data bridges. Sure, they have a database of players... but have you ever tried to extract a person to hit with from these systems?

Exactly. Talk about frustration.

Then you've got a huge graveyard of failed web ideas+startups with empty databases lacking any real critical mass. Meanwhile, us local players are continuing to build out our own contact lists manually.

Where is the leadership ?

Will change ever come.....
