Video and picture previews

Our engineering team is working on enhancing our new video and picture capability. This means creating automatic 'preview' versions in real-time.

Below are the tools that are being integrated into the next release.

(backend systems)

• manipulate video (and images) with FFmpeg

• access files using Jaffree

• original file is 7s long and weighs in at 7.7MB

• the preview is 2s long and weighs in at 120kB

• when user loads a chat room, preview videos/pics are loaded only

• a tap will subsequently load the full sized versions
